I recently had to explain to a Latin co-worker
why we English-speaking folk call it "Easter".
Of course, I told him of our risen Savior
being the Son of God and Light of the World.
As the sun is the physical light of the earth,
it rises every morning in the Eastern sky.
Thus, Jesus' resurrection is best captured
symbolically by the east-rising star.
As the beautiful Easter morning sun
rose from the Eastern Sky,
we had time to reflect on our blessings
and spend time with friends and family.
